FIFA World Cup: several nations earn slots into Round 32

Six nations have directly qualified into the round of 32 at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in USA, Canada and Mexico with pool matches starts.

After Wednesday start of pool matches, several teams have booked their places in the knockout round of 32.

South Africa’s Bafana Bafana was the latest nation to qualify after a 1-0 win over South Korea in Monterrey with a goal from Thapelo Maseko.

In pool A, one of the hosts Mexico topped after winning all their matches with the last being the 3-0 win over Czechia in Mexico City.

In Canada, Switzerland edged out hosts Canada 2-1 to top pool B with Canada coming second in Vancouver.

Multiple champions Brazil progressed alongside Morocco in a match played in Miami. Brazil were 3-0 winners over Scotland when Vinicius Junior scored a brace to top pool C with Morocco coming second after beating Haiti 4-2 in Atlanta.

Today, the final pool D, E and F fixtures continues where already qualified Germany face Ecuador, and Curacao take on Ivory Coast in pool D.

The battle for qualification in pool F comprises of Japan tackling Sweden and already out of contention Tunisia battling the Netherlands before the final pool D with co-hosts USA playing exited Turkey and Australia battle Paraguay.
