Kenya’s Junior Baseball5 team has been crowned the 2026 East African regional champions after an outstanding unbeaten run at the tournament held in Kampala, Uganda.
The youthful Kenyan side sealed the title in emphatic fashion, defeating hosts Uganda in straight sets in the final. Kenya dominated the opening set with an impressive 11-0 victory before completing the triumph with an 8-1 win in the second set to reclaim the regional crown.
Throughout the tournament, Kenya remained unbeaten, showcasing exceptional skill, teamwork, and consistency to emerge as the undisputed champions and wrest the title back from Uganda.
By reaching the final, both Kenya and Uganda secured qualification for the African Baseball5 Championship, where they will represent the East African region later this year.
The regional triumph provides a timely confidence boost for the Kenyan team as they intensify preparations for a busy international calendar. In addition to the continental championship, the team is also set to represent Kenya at the 2026 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal, later this year.
