Nairobi Kenya is set to host European giants Bayern Munich and Ajax Amsterdam in a club friendly match to be hsiated at the newly build Talanta’s Raila Odinga International stadium.
Yesterday, President William Ruto annaounced that the two giants to face off on January 5th 2027 to inaugurate the new stadium ahead of the country’s co-hosting the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) alongside Tanzania and Uganda.
Both Bayern and Ajax with multiple winners of the European Cups and UEFA Champions League titles will be renewing their rivalry since December 2018 at the UEFA Champions league pool matches ending in a 3-3 draw.
Bayern’s only previous games in Africa were in the 2013 FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco, at which Pep Guardiola’s team beat Guangzhou Evergrande 3-0 and then won the title against Raja Casablanca.
