Playing on home turf, Shanti Shah claimed the Moses Tanui Captain’s prize golf tournament played today at Eldoret golf club.
Despite shooting a blank in the second nine on hole 12 par 4, Shah went went ahead to win the title that attracted 67 golfers, giving the former marathon turned golfer Moses Tanui a good send off as his tenure as the captaincy came to an end.
Handicap 18 medical doctor carded solid 35 stable ford points after he shot four pars, ten bogeys and four double bogeys to claim the title.
Geoffrey Nathan Kitiwa came in second with 34 stable ford points.Handicap 17 golfer, Kitiwa beat banker Jeremiah Kayago and Nandi Bears teenager Noah Korir on count back before Elgeyo Marakwet governor Alex Tolgos completed the top five finishers.
