Kenya and hosts Uganda played out to 4 point each in the opening day of the annual Victoria Cup golf tournament on par 72 Uganda golf club.
Kenya team made up of Goribi Gititamu, Daniel Kiragu, Daniel Nduva, Paul Muchangi, Samuel Njoroge, Mutahi Kibugu, William Odera and Robinson Owiti flying Kenyan flag in the tournament sponsored by two time Boston marathon champion Moses Tanui.
In the first round Four Ball Better Ball, Kenya played 1-up but hosts returned with similar score in the second round Foursome to draw making the third and fourth rounds very competitive.
In the first round, Gitiramu paired well with Kiragu for a 4/3 against Uganda Joseph Chinyaazi and Godffrey Nsubuga while Nduva and Muchangi were 3/2 over Daniel Bagama and Rodell Gaita.
Njoroge and Kibugu played 1-up over Dennis Asaba and Emmanuel Jakisa before Njogu and Wahome were 3/2 against Grace Kasongo and Michael Alunga.
In the second round, reserves Odera and Owiti played Chinyaasi and Nsubuga 5/3 and Nduva and Muchangi played to a 4/3 over Alunga and Ashiraf Bagalana.
In the last two on the tees were Njoroge and Kibugu who registered 4/3 over Asaba and Jakisa while Njogu and Wahome played 1-up over Bagalana and Gaita.
