Former world Athletics Championships marathon bronze medalist Amos Kipruto managed second position as Ugandan Jacob Kiplimo and Ethiopian Hawi Feysa triumphed in today’s Chicago Marathon.
Kiplimo won the men title in 2:02:23 with Kipruto (2:03:54) coming second as Kenya’s Alex Masai was third (2:04:37) and USA’s Conner Mantz broke the North American record with 2:04:43 to finish fourth.
In women, Feysa dominated the race winning in 2:14:56 with compatriot Megertu Alemu followed in the second position at 2:17:18 and Tanzanian Magdalena Shauri completing the podium in 2:18:03 as Kenya’s Loice Chemnung was fourth in 2:18:23 from her first completed marathon.
