Annual Rhino Charge set for next month

The annual Rhino Charge, a motorsport event dedicated to raising funds for environmental conservation will be held June 1st in Kajiado County and is renowned for its unique blend of adrenaline-fueled off-road racing and environmental stewardship.

The event serves as a platform to raise vital funds for the conservation of Kenya’s water catchment areas and ecosystems. KBL’s partnership with its organisers, the Rhino Ark Charitable Trust, underscores its dedication to protecting the natural heritage of Kenya for future generations.

Eric Kiniti, Group Corporate Relations Director of East African Breweries Limited, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “At KBL, we believe in the power of collective action to drive positive change. By partnering with the Rhino Charge, we are not only supporting a thrilling motorsport event but also contributing to the preservation of our environment.”

The partnership comes in the wake of the company’s active position in championing sustainable impact throughout all its brands. Whitecap in specific has taken up specific role in sensitisation and preservation of water catchment areas, a key competent of the brands’ consumer engagement strategy for the foreseeable future.

Said Kate Mwangi, speaking on behalf of the Rhino Ark Charitable Trust: “To date, the Rhino Ark Charitable Trust has made significant strides in conservation efforts. With accumulated sum of Sh1.9 billion over 34 years, we have been able to oversee the construction and upkeep of 710 kilometres of electric fences which in turn has significantly reduced human-wildlife conflict in mountain ecosystems. Approximately 85,000 households have been the direct beneficiaries of this projects.
