Athletics family mourn legend Dan Omwansa

Former track legend Dan Omwansa, the kenyan sprinter is dead.

Omwansa, who used to compete in the 400m, 800m and 1,500m died todays, throwing the athletics family in mourning.

The pioneer athlete died today at the age of 74 years after a long illness, his family confirmed through the widow Esther Omwansa said he was suffering from stroke and high blood pressure.

He was part of the 1972 Munich Olympic Games where he participated in 800m. He was initially supposed to participate in 4x400m relay but was replaced by the late Paul Sang.
