Champion Wu in town ready to defend Magical Kenya Open title

Champion Ashun Wu is among top professional golfers that will be teeing off at the 2023 Magical Kenya Open Championship set for tomorrow at the Par-71 Muthaiga Golf Club.

The Chinese international won the Kenya Open  title after firing 6 under par 65 to clinch victory ahead of the 72-hole four-day stroke-play championship gets underway.

Prior to teeing it up for the event proper, Ashun will be among those lined up for Wednesday’s Pro-Am at the same venue.

Former champion Lorenzo Gagli, who won the 2018 title is also in the line up, Justin Harding, who claimed the 2021 top prize.

Tournament director Patrick Obath remarked the unique nature of the Magical Kenya Open and the increase of prize money from US$1.5m to US$ 2m as the reason behind rising interest of foreign stars.
