Champions Kabras out as battle for Christie 7s enters quarterfinals

A new Christie 7s champion will be crowned following the elimination of champions Kabras Sugar after failing to progress to the main Cup quarterfinals set for tomorrow.

The RFCUEA Grounds proved hostile for sugar millers in pool C encounter, beating Uganda’s Ruga Ruga Select 34–5 in their opener before falling to pool underdogs Daystar Falcons 17–12 and going down 5-0 to Menengai Oilers to finish the pool in third position.

As Kabras suffered a big blow, former champions KCB topped pool D with 37-12 victory against Nondescripts, edged out Blak Blad 38–0, and 19–12 win over Mwamba.

National champions and Prinsloo 7s champions Strathmore Leos led pool A after beating Zetech Soaks 19–17, following by Mombasa RFC and hosts Kenya Harlequin 26-22.

At the quarterfinals, Kenya Harlequin will take on Impala Saracens in the first event followed by KCB playing Daystar Falcons then Catholic Monks playing Strathmore Leos and Menengai Oilers square it out with Nondescripts.
