Chepkoech and Chebet win last medals as Kenya top Africa and 5th in Budapest

World record holder Beatrice Chepkoech won the last medal for the country at the concluded world Athletics championships in Budapest, Hungary as the country finished in position five.

Chepkoech win silver in the women’s 3,000m steeplechase behind the winner Winfred Yavi from Bahrain as youngster Faith Cherotich settled for bronze.

Kenya won 10 medals, thee gold, three silver and four bronze to top African continent.

Gold medalist

  1. Faith Kipyegon- 1,500m
  2. Faith Kipyegon- 5,000m
  3. Mary Moraa- 800m

Silver

  1. Beatrice Chepkoech- 3,000m steeplechase
  2. Daniel Simiu Ebenyo- 10,000m
  3. Emmanuel Wanyonyi- 800m

Bronze

  1. Jacob Krop-5,000m
  2. Abraham Kibiwott- 3,000m steeplechase
  3. Beatrice Chebet- 5,000m
  4. Faith Cherotich- 3,000m steeplechase
