World 3,000m steeplechase record holder Beatrice Chepkoech broke her second world record at the Monaco 5km road race.
The steeplechase ran away with the title in 14:43 lowering Caroline Kipkirui’s 14:48 set in 2018 with one second faster than Sifan Hassan’s 14:44 record for a women’s-only race.
The 29 year old claimed her second world record, this one joining her 8:44.32 record in the 3000m steeplechase set in 2018, also in Monaco.
In men’s race, former world indoor champion Bethwel Birgen finished second behind Ugandan Joshua Cheptegei. Cheptegei won in set the men’s record in 12:51 as Birgen and Davis Kiplangat clocked 13:17 and 13:19 respectively.
