Chepkurui and Kiprono crowned under 20 champions at National Cross Country

Cinthia Chepkirui and Emmanuel Kiprono Kipkorir were the winners of the national cross country championships under 20 category at the Eldoret Sports Club.

Coming from Nairobi, Chepkirui won the 6km under 20 title in 20:38.8 ahead of Miriam Chemutai Kibet from South Rift for second position as North Rift’s Lonah Cherono completed the podium places in 21:00.0.

In men’s 8km under 20 category, Kiprono from North Rift led a podium sweep in 24:22.5, followed by Frankline Chebet Kibet and world under 20 5,000m champion Andrew Alamisi Kiptoo in 24:25.4 and 24:29 respectively as Edwin Elkana, defending champion Kevin Kiprop and Andrew Kiptoo followed.
