Bernard Chepkwony and Hellen Chepkorir were the winners of today’s Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon held in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.
Chepkwony stormed to victory in 2:11:01 ahead of Alex Saekwo (2:11:26) and Ezekiel Omullo Kemboi in third place in 2:11:40.
In women, Chepkorir won the title after clocking 2:27:17 with Naomy Chepkorir coming second in 2:27:37, while Scholastica Jepkemboi completed the podium in 2:29:18.
Joshua Githuku and Karen Wainaina were the winners in the half marathon category at the same venue.
Githuku won the men’s title at 62:35, followed by Nahashon Kipsang in 1:03:31 and Gilbert Koririn 1:03:34 while Wainaina claimed the women title in 70:40, ahead of Fridah Rerimoi 74:23 and Winny Chebet75:21.
