Former world marathon champion Ruth Chepngetich and Isaiah Losoi were the winners of today’s Kenya Prisons Service Cross Country Championships held at the Kenya Prisons Staff Training College in Ruiru.
The reigning Chicago marathon champion won the women’s 10km distance when she clocked 32:53,6 beating World Under-20 3,000m champion Betty to second in 33:02.8 as Rebecca Mwangi came third in 34:10.2.
In men, guest runner Lasoi won the men’s 10km race in ahead of training mate Philemon Kosgei 29:27.7 and 29:46.6 respectively Geoffrey Korir was the first Prisons athlete to finish in third place in 29:49.8.
