Timothy Kiplagata Ronoh and Beatrice Cheptoo broke the Melbourne marathon course record in a race ran yesterday in Melbourne, Australia.
Ronoh won the men’s race in 2:09.12 beating the last record of 2:10.47 that was held by compatriot Dominic Ondoro set in 2013.
He led the podium 1-2 finish for Kenyans when Cornelius Kibet Kiplagat came in second position timing 2:10.25.
Cheptoo won the women’s race with a course record of 2:27.59 to lower the past record
