Discovery Kenya Cross Country winners have set their eyes on competing at the forthcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
Speaking after winning the 10km senior men and women titles, Kelvin Kiplagat and second placed Diana Cheroben have decided to take on track when the season starts.
Cheroben said that she will be competing on track and will be transitioning from the 1,500m to longer distances, was pleased with her performance ahead of Commonwealth Games in August.
“The race was good and I thank God for the position. It was my first time competing here and my preparations were good. This season, I want to focus more on the 5,000m on the track instead of the 1,500m,” said Cheroben.
Men winner Kelvin Kiplagat said that winning was good as he focus on track.
“I want to compete at the Commonwealth games in 10,000m in track,” said Kiplagat.
The same was shared by Cornelius Kemboi, the second finisher.
“I went off after world championships and this is my second event after Tokyo and the competition was good and my body. And now my focus turns to Commonwealth Games,” said Kemboi.
