Daniel maina in maiden KAGC victory at Tea Field Trophy in Kericho

Muthaiga Golf Club player Daniel Maina produced a superlative performance to record his maiden Kenyan Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) victory during Tea Field Trophy at the par 72 Kericho Golf Club.

Maina was in his own class, edging out top players for the trophy after firing three over par 219.

In his last round today, he rolled in level par to add on his two under par 70 yesterday and a five over par 77 in the opening round on Friday in the three day championships.

In the opening round, he managed to sink three birdies, 7 pars and eight bogeys for a total of five over but recovered well with four birdies, twelve pars and two bogeys in round two then completed round three with four birdies, ten pars and four bogeys for two over.
