David Ouma, the former Harambee Starlets, the national women soccer team head coach has been appointed as Singida Black Stars head coach.

Ouma was unveiled yesterday at the club’s headquarters in Tanzania, replacing Argentina’s Miguel Gamondi as head coach.

In a statement, the club wrote: “Singida Black Stars would like to inform the public, fans, and football stakeholders that it has made operational changes to the technical bench. The club has hired Othmen Najjar as the team’s general manager. In addition, the club has changed the role of Ramadhani Nsanzurwimo, who was the technical director, appointing him as the club’s technical advisor. The team general manager will work closely with the new head coach, David Ouma, alongside assistant coaches Mousa Nd’aw and Muhibu Kanu.

Gamondi will serve as the assistant coach for the club after he was offered the Tanzania national team head coach role on a permanent basis after guiding Taifa Stars to the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations round of 16.

“In another step, Singida Black Stars has changed the duties of head coach Miguel Gamondi and appointed him as the club’s technical director. In addition, the club has no objection to coach Miguel Gamondi being appointed permanent head coach of the Tanzania national team, Taifa Stars, if the relevant authorities deem it appropriate.”

Ouma’s first assignment will be a CAF Confederation Cup home clash against Congolese side Otoho d’Oyo on Sunday, 25 January. Singida currently sit bottom of Group C with one point from two matches, while the Congolese outfit are second with three points
