New comers Kenya Ports Authority (KPA), former champions General Service Unit (GSU), former champions Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) and other new comers Directorate of Criminal Instigations (DCI) j=have qualified to play at the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) finals set for next weekend at the Nyayo stadium.
In men second, KPA won against the reigning champions Kenya Prisons 2 out 2 to serve their ticket to the finals in dominant style with straight sets in the second match today at 25 – 21, 25– 17 and 25 – 18.
The victory was an addition of yesterday’s round one win in four-setter at in 25-19, 17-25, 25-20, and 25-18 in a depth, grit, and hunger of a team on a mission.
The new comers KPA will take on former champions GSU at the finals after punching into the finals with 3-1 win Equity Bank in the second match at 25-22, 25-21, 20-25, 25-23.
The red berets needed just one more win to secure the best-of-three series following yesterday’s 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, and 25-16).
In women, former champion KPC roared back from a set down to conquer the reigning champions KCB 3–1 to book their ticket.
The Mombasa based KPC won in 25–21, 25–23, 25–18, and 25–23 in game 2 after another victory in game one yesterday at 3-1 (25-16, 25-18, and 25-23).
KPC will now face new comers DCI at the finals after beating former champions Prisons Kenya 3-2 in game two in one of the longest serving match.
DCI won in 25 – 22, 25 – 21, 17 – 25, 16 – 25 and 15 – 12 to add on game 1 victory yesterday at 3-2 (25–21, 12-25, 26–24, 22-25 and 15–12).
