Edwin Terer claim a bronze in 10,000m race walk at World Deaf Athletics

Kenya continued with their superlative performance when Edwin Terer claimed a bronze in 10,000m race walk at the ongoing 4th edition of the World Deaf Athletics Championships in Lublin Athletics Stadium in Poland.

The walk race which had eight participants with two who did not finish and three who did not start due to the weather patterns. The rain was so intense rain, wind and temperature around 13 degrees Celsius that forced Terer to finish a distant third place in 1:31.35 with Spaniard Ionut Antonio Acín Hernández destroying the field in a fast paced time of 53:54 after completing the 25 laps on the track..

Kazakhstan’s Bakhtiyar Kassenov took silver in 1:03.23.

Another Kenyan, David Njeru Muriuki did not finish the race

There were no participants in the women’s competition scheduled for the same time and at the same distance, although there were athletes registered during the preliminary phase.
