Unbeaten Eldoret Youth will hoping to end the FKF Division One Zone B on top of the table and promoted to the National Super League (NSL) come next season.
Following their 1-0 win against hosts Shabana in the top of the table battle last weekend at Gusii stadium, the Eldoret based team will this Sunday host Bungoma Super Stars at Wareng high school.
Hosea Kipchirchir scored the lone goal on 93rd minute to see Eldoret Youth collect maximum points against for Kenya Premier League (KPL) side Shabana to stamp top of the table with authority.
Captain Dennis Injeni is optimistic that they will win the remaining matches to see them promoted to the NSL before playing at KPL the following season.
“We want to bring football back to Eldoret, the area well known for producing best footballers un the gone days. Our target to play at the KPL, not the NSL, which many teams stagnate at,” said Injeni.
Injeni added that once they are playing in the second tier football in the country, they dont want to stagnate but improve on their playing unit to bring backi football in the North Rift as it used to be in the past.
“Our target is to play at KPL in the next two seasons, we don’t want, once promoted to the NSL we stuck their but be promoted to KPL,” added Injeni.
Playing their home matches at Wareng High, the team has collected 52 points from 20 matches, won 16, drawn four and losing none, scoring 39 goals, conceding eight.
In other Zone B matches, Raiply will be taking on Trans Mara Sugar Company at Bishop Dellany High school in Eldoret, while Timsales will host St. Joseph’s Youth at St Andrews Academy on Sunday.
Second placed Shabana, struggling to redeem their image in top football will be hosting Bondo United at Gusii stadium, Poror Mote to play Nyakach United at Poror High and Kisumu Hotspurs taking on Transfoc at Moi Stadium, Kisumu with all matches, both Saturdayu and Sunday to start at 1pm.
