Elly Barno took the home advantage to successfully retain the Nandi Bears Open Shield Title played at the par 72 Nandi Bears golf club in Nandi County.
In an exciting finish, the home player defended the title in commanding fashion after posting a total score of 221.
The final day delivered exceptional golf, with Barno maintaining steady form to stay ahead of the field with Daniel Kiragu finishing in second place with a total of 224, while Amos Odongo claimed third position after posting 225, rounding off a highly competitive leaderboard.
This year’s championship featured a strong field of 50 players, continuing the tournament’s growth as one of the most prestigious events on Kenya’s amateur golf circuit.
With last year’s winning momentum and the added advantage of local familiarity, Barno’s victory highlighted both his consistency and competitive edge.
