Emerging Stars, the national under 23 football team won their second leg match against their hosts Mauritius in the Africa Cup cum Olympic Games qualifier in a match played today at Anjalay Stadium in Belle Vue, Mauritius.
Kenya defeated Mauritius 3-1 for an aggregate of 8-1 to match into the second round of the qualifier against either Sudan or Seychelles in the second round.
The third round, which determines who graces the 2019 Africa U23 Cup of Nations in Egypt, is also in line. The tourney will act as a qualifier to the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
Pistone Mutamba, Ovella Ochieng and James Mazembe scored a goal each. On Wednesday, Kenya secured a 5-0 win in the first leg played at the Moin Sports Centre, Kasarani.
Mutamba and Mazembe were on target as well as Johnstone Omurwa, Sydney Lokale and Joseph Okumu.
