Three time Olympic Games 1,500m champion Faith Kipyegon’s world 1,500m has been ratified.
Today, the World Athletics ratified the world record set during the Eugene Diamond League meeting set the new world record at 3:48.68 at the Prefontaine Classic on 5 July, after shedding off 0.36 seconds from her previous world record of 3:49.04 she set in Paris on 7 July 2024.
Kipyegon will next compete at the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25, taking place from 13-21 September.
