Cameroon successfully retained their Africa Nations Volleyball women’s championships title after beating Kenya in a thrilling five-setter final encounter at October 6th Hall in Giza, Egypt.
The final was a replica of the 2017 when hosts Cameroon defeated Kenya 3-1 in another final.
Malkia Strikers, who rallied from two sets down to edge Cameroon in pool B encounter to qualify into semifinal where they thrashed Senegal, failed to live their expectations as champions won 2-3.
Kenya twice fought to level before losing the tie breaker in 25-17, 25-27, 25-23 and 23-25 and 16-14.
Senegal, which lost to Malkia in semis edged out hosts Egypt to win bronze in 3-1 (25, 17, 25-17, 14-25 and 28-26 at the playoff.
