Kenya Premier League (KPL) sides AFC Leopards and Kariobangi Sharks face off tomorrow as they fight for Gotv Shield title ahead of CAF Confederation Cup next year.
Each team will be yearning to be a hero on the Mashujaa Day (Heroes) at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
Leopards won against national Super League side Vihiga United while Kariobangi won against SoNY Sugar in the double header at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru to make their way into the final play.
Kariobangi, who are the debutants in the KPL has collected four points from four time GOtv champions Ingwe ahead of the titanic clash.
Last year, The Sharks lost to Ulinzi Stars in GOtv Shield semifinal but finished third after overcoming Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) in the third place play-off.
In the KPL side, Sharks beat Ingwe 2-0 in the first leg of their league game at Afraha Stadium before playing out to a 0-0 draw in the reverse fixture in Machakos. They edged Leopards 3-2 in a preseason friendly at Kasarani earlier in the year.
At stake will be a ticket to represent the country in next year’s Caf Confederation Cup and a Sh2 million prize money. Runners up will bag Sh1 million.
Leopards last clinched the domestic cup in 2013 after outsmarting eternal rivals Gor Mahia 1-0 in the final played at Nyayo Stadium.
