Harambee Stars: two friendly matches lined up

National football team Harambee Stars is set to play two friendly matches during the FIFA week between March 24th to 29th.

Stars are slated to travel to Morocco for the two friendlies with the 2017 CECAFA champions taking on Comoros in their first tie which has been booked for Saturday 24 March then the game against Gambia taking place three days later, on Tuesday 27 March.

This will be the first Stars assignment since their CECAFA heroics late last year and under the tutelage of Stanley Okumbi who was handed over the reins on interim basis following the departure of Belgian Paul Put. The last time Kenya faced Comoros, Stars thrived with a 2-1 aggregate win after overcoming them 1-0 in Nairobi before holding them to a 1-1 draw away, in the 2015 AFCON qualification process, then under the tutelage of Adel Amrouche.

Stars who are ranked 106th globally in FIFA Rankings will hope to use this opportunity to improve the team, with the friendlies expected to be graced by Stars’ foreign based players.

The matches are part of Stars preparations for the 2019 AFCON qualifiers
