Herman Humwa and Michael Wanjala have been called into the Shujaa team ahead of the final leg of HSBC World Rugby series set for this weekend in Paris, France.
Kenya Harlequins and Homeboyz players were flown to Paris to replace injured Dan Sikuta and Daniel Taabu. The Kabras Sugar and Mwamba players were injured in the weekend’s London sevens where kenya gannered a point.
Sikuta and Taabu suffered hamstring groin injury injuries. Also joining the team in France is Eden Agero from Kenya Harlequins.
Taabu, debutant in the Series this season, and Kenya’s lead point scorer with 157 points, played alongside Sikuta against Fiji but missed out the rest of day one games against Samoa and France. He returned on day two against Scotland in the Challenge Trophy semis.
Humwa and Wanjala had previously been part of Murunga’s plans this season. Humwa featured in the first four legs of the series in Dubai, Cape Town, Las Vegas and Vancouver while Wanjala joined him at Las Vegas and Vancouver.
At Paris 7s Kenya, at risk of relegation from the series as they sit just two points off the red zone held by Japan, is banded in pool B with defending champions South Africa, Wales and 2019 London 7s finalists Australia.
