However, I have won in the Masters Category but this is very special for me,\u201d said Mutahi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the two day championships that started yesterday, Saturday June 7<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;to today\u2019s June 8<sup>th<\/sup>, he said that he faced a very stiff competition, slowing his title chase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI must admit that the tournament was very tough. I faced very tough opponents, disappointed at some point in the day but I had to recollect on day two to win all my games that propelled me to victory,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He says that as a milestone win, he will be celebrating the title with his team mates Acacia Club in Nairobi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis victory is good as I plan to maintain my game and probably win in the next event,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On day one, he started on a bad note, losing the opening game to Kuria Githinji before back to back wins in 2 and 3 against Richard Okechi and Charles kariuki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sailing was not smooth as he lost game 4 and 5 to Francis Wachira and Ian Oyoo before recovering to beat SC president Kipkemoi Limo in game 6 before losing game 7 to Kipruto Tarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He defeated Kenya One Allan Oyende in game 8 then lost to Mark Owuor in game 9.
