An Eldoret court has set a new hearing and ruling date for constitutional petition challenging Sports Disputes Tribunal (STD) to bar candidates from participating at the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K) elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last Thursday, Joycelene Nyambura, Francis Paul, Mudibo and Kenya Table Tennis Association (KTTA) had to seek court injunction stopping the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and NOC- elections returning officer Muthee Gakuru from conducting the election of executives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The petitioners also included NOC-K and the Sports Registrar alleging bias by accusing Sports Dispute Tribunal (SDT) for favouring federations aligned with the Francis Mutuku-led team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Justice Nyakundi directed that parties be given time to argue historical facts in the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lawyer Julia Kiget, who is representing NOC-K alongside William Arusei said they were ready for highlighting submissions on Thursday next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Eldoret High Court judge Reuben Nyakundi set that the case will be heard on July 2 in a case that stopped NOC-K last Thursday for the second time stopping KTTA from participating, pending the hearing and determination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Andrew Mudipo, who is contesting for the Secretary General position led KTTA was barred from vying over claims that the federation was not properly registered.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
