Two time Federation of East Africa Secondary schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) champions Itigo Girls and Rif Valley schools finalists Chemase Boys qualified to play at the North Rift Branch Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom finals set for Sunday.
Itigo from Nandi North Sub branch in Nandi County qualified to play at the finals courtesy of Plateau girls of Uasin Gishu county following their victory in the two matches played at the University of Eldoret grounds.
Daisy Cherop scored the lone goal in their second encounter to book final play against Kaptagat Girls from Keiyo.
In the first match, Itigo held hosts Plateau to a barren draw at the same venue before Cherop sealed the victory in the 29th minute to top pool A to book for finals, who waited for Kaptagat girls who topped pool A.
Kaptagat won their opener 2-1 against Father Muir from Nandi South before playing to a one all draw against Santa Maria from Keiyo. Maria also drew by similar margin in the last match against Muir to seal Kaptagat’s promotion to finals.
In the boys catehory, Chemase from Nandi South dominated in both matches against Kapsowar to top pool B.
Pablo Odwour scored a brace in 20th and 39th minute in the opening match as Chemase defeated their opponents 1-2 before extending the lead in the second match with a 2-0 win. In the second encounter Mach Jok and Joshua Odiuor in the 18th and 39th minute to seal victory.
Ussin Gishu’s Tumkas will be facing Chemase at the final following their unbeaten run in the tournament.
Using home ground advantage, Tumkas first edged out Kitany Youth 2-1 before thrashing Keyodester Youth 0-4 to collect maximum points while Kitany while Kitany defeated Keyodester 1-3.
