Kamais wins Catholic Lenten title in Nakuru

Junior Golfer Foundation (JGF) golfer Charles Kamais edged out home golfer Daniel Kimari and David Bwana on count back to claimed the Catholic Lenten golf tournament played on Saturday in Nakuru.

The handicap 24 golfer carded 41 stable ford points following his 17 and 23 points in each nine to win the title ahead of Kimari (29) Bwana who scored 22 and 19 and 23 and 17 points in the front and back nines to finish second and third respectively.

Njoro club’s Eleanor Wambui was the lady winner after she sunk 40 points while handicap 15 player Stephen Mucheru won the men’s title with similar score.

Handicap 18 Fr. Bethuel Mwaura of Njoro won the Clergy title with 36 points.

Shem Orwenyo from Nakuru was the Gross Winner on 34 as Gladys Koinange won the junior title with 32 points while Kikwai Rono (Njoro) fired 21 points to lift the first nine title and Umarpal Jutley was the second nine with 24 points.

Nyahururu’s Simon Ngugi and Mary Wanjiku were the nearest to the pin and Longest drive women winnersrespectively before Kamais returned to the podium for the Longest drive men.
