Nyali Open Championships will determine the Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) winner this weekend as all top three golfers battle out.

Top golfers Edwin Mudanyi (Vet Lab), Dennis Saikwa (Royal) and John Karichu (Limuru) will all be in contention for the top honours at Nyali Golf and Country Club in the coastal City.

The 2017 battle will be determined on the last day compared to 2016 title that was won with three legs remaining out of 18. Royal Club’s Kenneth Bollo as the 2016 title winner won with three legs to go unlike this year where top three golfers will be playing for the title.

Mudanyi leads the table with 481 points followed by Saikwa on 435.1 and Karichu trailing third with 424.2.

Saikwa was the surprise winner of back to back wins from Nyanza Open (Hippo Pot) and winning home turf during Uhuru Shield to clime fast to second beating Karichu.

Mudanyi who has been consistently finishing second in almost all tournaments, won Kabete Open and Manchester Salver to propel him to the top.
In the 54 hole tournament, the golfers will start the game on Friday, with 18 holes, play other 18 on Saturday and end on Sunday with other 18 holes.
top junior player Agil Is Hag will be on the first tee at 7:32am playing with Michael Kibugu and John Timbe.
Kenyan captain Alfred Nandwa takes to the tee at 12:24pm with Njuguna Ngugi and Bhavi Shah. Mudanyi will play alongside Peter Rimui and K. Juma. Saikwa will play with Robinson Owiti and John Karichu on the first tee at 13:12pm.
