Promotion to Kenya Cup intensifies as Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) championships play off draw is released.
On Saturday, Western Bulls, which finished third in the championships will host United States International University (USIU) in the first play off before Kisumu RFC hosts Catholic Monks at Mambo Leo Show ground.
Winners between Bulls and USIU will play Mean Machine which finished second while Kisumu and Monks winners will face top finisher Menengai Oilers in the semi finals.
This comes at a time when The Bulls edged out Mean Machine 8-6 on Wednesday evening. The hosts scored a penalty and an unconverted try with Machine scoring two penalties.
The result saw the Bulls finish third at the conclusion of the championship’s league phase and will now host USIU in a Top Six playoff encounter.
Despite the loss, Mean Machine finished second overall on the log and join Menengai Oilers in the semifinals slated for Saturday 28 April 2018 upon completion of Saturday’s playoff.
