Kenya lose Davis Tennis Cup to Namibia

Kenya lost the opening match to Namibia at the Davis Cup Rakuten Africa Group III tournament in Bachdjarah in Algeria.

Team Kenya made up of Albert Njogu, Kael Shah lost 2-1 in singles against Connor Henry van Schalkwyk 6-1 and 6-1 and Kael Shah Codie van Schalkwyk 7-5 and 6-3.

In the doubles, Kenya lost in the tie-breaker match 7-6(2), 6-2 with the pair pf Derick Ominde and Keean Shah lost to Schalkwyk brothers.

Today, Kenya will play Morocco and hosts Algeria on pool D matches.

The two group winners automatically gain promotion to the World Group II play-offs in 2022.
