Kenyan Women Premier League champions Kenya Police Bullets will enjoy home advantage after Kenya was handed the rights to host the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA qualifiers next month in Nairobi.
Bullets will be seeking to improve on last year’s performance when they finished as runners-up to Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE), missing an opportunity to fly the region’s flag at the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League.
The championships, set to kick off on September 4th to 16th has attracted to women teams from the region as they search for tickets into the continental championships under the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA).
This will be the second time Kenya is hosting the qualifiers after Football Kenya Federation (FKF) successfully bid for the rights since the 2021 inaugural event when Vihiga Queens emerged champions.
“We are happy that the tournament will be returning to Kenya,” said CECAFA Competitions Director Yusuf Mossi, highlighting the significance of the event in developing women’s football in the region.
police will be joined by CBE FC (Ethiopia), Yei Joint Stars (South Sudan), JKT Queens (Tanzania), Kampala Queens (Uganda), Rayon Sports Women FC (Rwanda), JKU Princesses (Zanzibar), and Top Girls Academy (Burundi).
