Kenya Police fires head coach Etienne Ndayiragije

Kenya Premier League side Kenya Police FC has parted ways with head coach Etienne Ndayiragije following their exit from the CAF Champions League.

The Burundian, who led Police win their maiden titlehas parted ways with the team in a statement released by the club today, allowing him to pursue other issues.

In less than a year (November 2024) after signing a contract with the law enforcers, Ndayiragije transformed the team, guiding the club to its first-ever league title during the 2024–2025 to qualify for CAF Champions League.

They went ahead to dislodge Somalia’s Mogadishu City in 4-4 aggregate after police enjoyed an away goal difference. In the first leg at the Nyayo stadium, Police won 3-1 and in the return leg, the police drew 2-2 at the same venue.

With Mogadishu out, they faced Sudan’s Al Hilal Omdurman that won 4–1 on aggregate. The Kenyan club lost both home and away.
