Kenya to open World Tchoukball Beach Championships against Korea and Czech Republic

Making their maiden appearance at the 3rd edition of World Tchoukball Beach Championships, Kenya will be facing off with South Korea on tomorrow, Thursday August 7th 2025 in Bali, Indonesia.

Under the guidance of Billy Odhiambo, Kenya will begin its quest for glory on their first appearance for global event that has attracted 10 nations as Cameroon and Benin are other African representatives.

With the championships staring tomorrow, they will be coming to an end on August 10the where Kenya men’s team is pooled in Group A alongside hosts Indonesia, India, Benin and Czech Republic while women have Czech Republic.

Odhiambo is full of confidence that they will shine despite making a debut and minor delays caused by unfavorable beach conditions.

The tourney, now in third edition, begins Thursday in Bali, Indonesia and has brought together 10 nations from across the globe.

Kenya’s men’s team is placed in Group A alongside hosts Indonesia, India, Benin, and the Czech Republic. The women’s team will begin their campaign against the Czech Republic

Odhiambo noted that both teams underwent intensive training in Mombasa and Malindi before travelling to Indonesia and are in good shape for the global stage.

“Both the ladies and men’s sides have prepared well, and we expect victory from the two teams,” he added.
