43 swimmers will represent Kenya at the CANA Zone 3 swimming Championships in Dar-es-salaam, Tanzania next week.
With Kenya under suspension by FINA, the swimmers will compete under a neutral flag in the five day championships where they will be facing off with Uganda, Burundi, Sudan, Eritrea, and the hosts Tanzania.
Kenya finished third overall last year with 2369 points as Uganda carried the day with 2827 points. Tanzania were second with 2638 points.
Nathan Matimu, who shone last year in Kampala, will be returning to spearhead Kenya’s hopes of a gold medal harvest in Tanzania.
Others selected for the boys’ category and took part last year in Kampala include Baraka Nyakundi, Neo Olengo, Igbal Bayusuf and Aker Mutinda.
In the girls’ category, Ali Lubaina will be one to watch out for alongside Nina Irangi, Marion Alela and Ivy Aseka.
