Geoffrey Omodni, the Malkia Strikers, the national women’s volleyball team head cocah has finally named the final squad ahead of FIVB World Championships that will be played next week in Thailand.
With the championships set for August 22nd to September 7ht, the Kenya Volleyball Federation today named Malkia Strikers final squad of 14 players that will compete for the nation.
Seventeen players have been in residential training at the Nyayo National stadium gymnasium in Nairobi.
The team will fly out of the country to Vietnam for a couple of friendly matches against Vietnam and Spain before they depart for Thailand on August 20 in time for the World Championship.
The team was scheduled to jet out of the country in batches with the first batch flying out of the country to Vietnam on Thursday night while the second batch will leave on Friday.
Two players, Kenya Prisons setter Marcleen Akoko was dropped.
Kenya are in group “G” together with Poland, Germany and Vietnam.
