Kenyan Jonah Oyunga scores two as Mirren beat Celtic to lift Scottish Cup

Kenyan striker Jonah Ayunga bagged a brace when his side Mirren defeated giants Celtic to lift the Scottish Cup during the final in Glasgow yesterday.

The Harambee Stars player managed to score in the 64th and 76th minutes, adding on Marcus Fraser goal for a 3-1 victory.

Fraser  had scored first for Mirren before Celtic’s Reo Hatate levelled in the 23rd minute but the introduction of Ayunga handed the champions two important goals.

It is St Mirren’s first ever trophy in 12 years since they beat Hearts in 2013 to win the Scottish Cup.

Ayunga joined the Scottish side from Morecambe in July 2022 and has gone on to make 71 appearances for them — scoring 11 goals.

He has also become a regular for the national team Harambee Stars player.
