Ryan Wesley Ogam and Michael Olunga bagged a brace each when Kenya’s Harambee Stars thumped Seychelles’s The Pirates in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in a match played at the Moi Sports Centre, Kasarani today evening.
The Benni McCarthy coached side won 5-0 on home soil to end a long wait for a home victory after making six changes from the side that fell 3-1 to The Gambia last week.
With goalkeeper Brian Bwire benched and Byrne Omondi taking over, as Ogam scored first in the 7th minute with a header for a 1-0 lead for Kenya before Collins Sichenje doubling the score in the 35th minute.
Ogam, who is traveling to Austria, scored the third and his brace in the 38th minute for 3-0 and captain Micahel Olunga converting from the spot in the dying minutes of the first half for a 4-0 lead for home-side.
Coming from the break, Olunga was on target again in the 67th minute to seal the victory.
