Rising Stars, the National under 17 football team will be taking on Tanzania in the semifinal encounter at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Under- 17 qualifiers in Abebe Bikila stadium in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
In the last pool match played this evening, the William Muluya coached side lost 1-0 but due to their past pool A results handed them a semifinal berth.
Dawit Kasaw scored the solitary goal to give the hosts an upper hand to lead pool A with their first loss in the two long week tournament.
Kenya had earlier on beat Somalia 2-1 followed by a 1-1 draw against Somalia and today’s 1-0 loss to finish the pool in second position with four points as Ethiopia leads the table.
With second finish, Kenya will take on Tanzania who topped pool B unbeaten in the semifinals.
