Former Valencia marathon champion Victor Kipchirchir has set his eyes on retaining the Eldoret City marathon title set for next year in Eldoret on 10th April.
After winning the 2021 awarding ceremony, Kipchirchir who won the title in 2:08.56 beating Leonard Lagat (2:10.49) and Nandi’s Emmanuel Bor (2:11.10) said his focus will be to defend the title for another good cash awards.
“This race is well organized and I want to try my best to defend this title next year. It is still far but I am optimistic of being crowned the champion again,” said Kipchirchir.
The Uasin Gishu born runner, who was returning into action following a road accident in 2018 that kept him off from running and on return won his first race, went ahead to clinch the inaugural 15km Machakos Machakos Great Run.
