Wesley Kiplagat, Kevin Kipkosgei and Millicent Kipyekomen won silver and bronze medals for Kenya at the ongoing Africa Youth Games in Angola.
The three medals medal haul continued to grow after a strong showing by the athletics team, adding three more medals to the tally.
Kiplagat won silver in the men’s 8:3.14 behind Eritrea’s Alexander Rueson, who claimed gold.
Kipkosgei won bronze 800m men while Kipyekomen won another bronze in women’s 1,500m. Kipkosge secured a bronze medal in the boys’ 800m finishing behind Hika Regassa and Riad Yasser, who took first and second respectively.
In the girls’ 1,500m Kipyekomen added another bronze for Kenya with a strong third-place finish.
With these results, Kenya’s medal count now stands at ten, four gold, two silver and four bronze medals.
