Double world 1,500m champion Faith Kipyegon and upstart Nelly Chepchirchir have qualifed to compete at the finals in the 1,500m in the ongoing World championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Both Kipyegon and Chepchirchir won in their respective heats in the semifinals to make it to the finals.
In heat 1, Chepchirchir won in 4:02.14 while Kipyegon managed to win in 3:55.14.
However, former world under 18 1,500m bronze medalist Ednah Jebitok failed to qualify after finishing 7th in heat 1 at 4:05.41.
