Team Kenya captain John Lejirma will be chasing his position to defend the Ronald Marshall and Toby Gibson title, THE Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) title at the par 72 Njoro golf club in Nakuru County.
The tournament has also attracted two foreigners, specifically from Rwanda who will be battling among the elite amateurs for the crown starts today to Sunday
The Kenya Railways golfer who, two weeks ago won the Trans Nzoia Open in Kitale, will be seeking back to back victories at the series ahead of 2025 Magical Kenya Open.
Lejirma, who took over the national team captainancy from Limuru’s Dennis Maara will be at the tee box at 9:40am alongside Mercy Nyanchama and James Muigane.
Last year at the nine hole club, Lejirma defeated the current series leader Elvis Muigua from Kiambu golf club at the final for the title.
The former KAGC champion Lejirma defeated vet lab’s Ebill Onmollo 2 and 3 while Muigua recorded similar score against Golf park’s Sammy Mulama, the Golf Park open at the Golf park golf club to book for a final play.
His brother Raphael Leming’an will be the first on the tee at 800am alongside Kenneth Muraya followed by Ebill Omollo, Felix Dusabe from Rwanda and Kiambu’s Steve Orinda.
Dusabe will lead the foreigers that includes compatriot Didas Ndindambahizi.
