Maiden win for Karari at Manchester Salver victory in Eldoret

Simon Karari registered his maiden win when he swung into victory into Manchester Salver, the Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) series on par 71 Eldoret club.

Limuru club’s Karari defeated Kiambu’s Michael Karanga with a shot for the title as amateur search for points ahead of 2022 Magical Kenya Open golf championships in Karen.

Today, he managed three over par 74 to cumulatively one the title on five over par 147 with his two over par 73 on Saturday.

He said that he lacked basic needs to play in the tournament that attracted 71 golfers.

“The tournament was good. I struggled to reach and play in this tournament but finally I won. This was not a walk in the park,” said the 32 year old Karari.

“Imagine I did not have any transport to this place, I did not have accommodation and entry fee then Chelogoi (Andrew) and Mutai (Kimeli) came to my rescue, this is a God given title,” said Karari after the win.

He said the win has opened the door for success in his career.

Karari defeated series leader Michael Karanga with a shot with six over par 148 and Vet Lab’s Ebill Omollo completing the podium with seven over.
