Malik wins against Lejirma in play-offs at Mt Kenya Championships in Nyeri

USA based Taimur Malik, playing his second event in the Kenya Amateur Golf Championships series, won the Mt kenya Championships at the par 72 Nyeri golf club.

Malik stunned Kenya railways’ John Lejirma at the play-offs for the title after completing the three day championships with one under par 215.

They faced off at the play-offs in holes one and two where they all parred in home one while Lejirma bogeyed in second, Malik parred to victory.

“I really enjoy playing in upcountry away from Nairobi. I enjoyed playing on the course and with the live coverage, it was so professional,” said Malik.
